FFA/EMC Career Development Event

As a rural cooperative, the EMCs have always played an integral part in educating our consumers about electricity in agricultural settings. The FFA/EMC Career Development Event is an excellent opportunity for high-school FFA members to learn valuable skills in the design and application of electrical wiring.

Through local, district, and statewide contests, these students compete for the opportunity to advance, with great incentives such as hand tools and college scholarships available for the winners. But with the valuable skills gained that often lead to career opportunities, every student who participates is a winner.

Who can participate?

Any active FFA member who is in grade 10, 11, or 12 in the State of Georgia is eligible to participate in this activity. Each chapter is limited to one contestant per contest. The top two individuals in the area contest may participate in the state contest during the same year, however, students who have participated in the state contest once are INELIGIBLE to participate again.

How can I participate?

Interested students should contact the FFA Coordinator or Agricultural Teachers at their High School, or contact our Member Services Department or send an e-mail to pbearden@ocmulgeeemc.com.
