2007 Young Couples Conference

The Georgia Cooperative Council, Inc. in conjunction with the South Carolina Council of Cooperatives sponsors the Young Co-op Couples Conference. Organizers gear the conference toward young farm-oriented couples generally under the age of forty. It is held at Myrtle Beach, SC with couples from both states attending.

The three-day conference is held on November 11-13, 2007 this year, and gives couples a broader understanding of cooperatives and how they work. Representatives from various cooperatives participate in the conference by explaining the function of their particular cooperative. Cooperatives involved are Georgia Energies, Farm Credit Service, Mid-America Dairymen, Gold Kist, Telephone Cooperatives, and others.

Each year, one couple is selected by Ocmulgee EMC to attend the conference. Conference expenses are paid by the respective Councils, with the exception of transportation. Interested? Need more information, contact our Member Services Department or send an email to pbearden@ocmulgeeemc.com .
